| Just Purchased from Us? |
Use this guide, below, to get an overview of how we manage the process and work together with you to complete the project according to your schedule and expectations. |
Many customers ask: What happens next?
- Your salesperson makes a VERY detailed worksheet for your job. It's not just for the installer! There are many people involved in creating your job!
- This is then handed in to the fabrication/installation department.
- We create a computer document of your job, detailing how many posts, sections, gates, caps, etc. This helps us to send the proper material to your job.
- While the fabrication department is building your job, the installation department
is working hard to SCHEDULE your job. This includes following New York State
Law which says that before we dig on your property, we must call to have your
property marked out for any GAS, ELECTRIC, WATER, PHONE SERVICES etc. We have to wait for
this to be done before we can do anything on your property.
- HAVE A COPY OF YOUR SURVEY. It helps us with the proper placement of the fence.
Otherwise, we will put the fence where YOU mark it for us. If we need to move the fence afterwards, for any reason, there is a charge of $100 per post.
- Henceforth, YOU MUST BE HOME AT THE TIME OF THE INSTALLATION. The installation
foreman will want to go over the job with you and, since installing a fence requires
working underground and with what nature created, questions do arise. Please be home
for any questions. Also, we cannot be responsible for anything underground. We
cannot see below the surface of the ground, so please mark your sprinkler, electric
lines, etc. We are not responsible for anything underground.
- As you can see, it takes much work and many people to get your job going. So
please, ANY CHANGES OR DELETIONS MUST BE WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS OF CONTRACT DATE.
There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this. Any additions can still be done, but the extra work
may be treated as a different job at your house. We appreciate your co-operation!
- No land is perfectly level. Some properties have a very obvious slope. Please
communicate with your installer your preferred way to install your fence. He will
recommend to either rack the fence to follow the slope OR to step the fence. Sometimes, due to the land conditions, a gap is created underneath the bottom rail of the fence. Most people choose to fill this in with soil or brick or stone or some other preference. Other people ask us to build filler pieces to cover the gap. The cost is $75 per piece additional to the contract.
- Vinyl gates operate like a house door; whatever direction they swing to, they lock
from. You will see the hardware/hinges on THAT side.
- We may be taking down and taking away your old fence (please see your contract). However, we do not cart away soil, rock, debris, etc. Please tell our installers where you would like the soil placed on your property.
- Vinyl gates operate like a house door; whatever direction they swing to, they lock
from. You will see the hardware/hinges on THAT side.
- Fences that are other than the color white (tan, khaki, gray) will sometimes have a longer time frame due to back ordering and production runs. We appreciate your patience.
